This Archives exhibit tells the story of the courageous and determined women who settled and sculpted this region. The contributions they made are as diverse as the women themselves.
Some of their efforts were quietly woven into the fabric of our community through philanthropic pursuits which advanced our hospitals, schools, churches, arts and culture. They have endeavored to raise families as well as our community.
Other women were not so quiet in the annals of local history. They defied social convention and braved a disapproving public reception in order to realize their ambitions. They had a presence in agriculture, business, politics, science, art and much more.
Through this Archives exhibit, discover the struggles and triumphs of our pioneering women.
