New this fall, the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre along with the Hive Artists’ Hub will be offering PD Day programming specifically for students who are enrolled in both Kindergarten and ELP programs through SD76 and are without regular school-based programming on the last Wednesday of each month!
On the last Wednesday of every month throughout the school year, K/ELP students can spend their day experimenting with various art materials and techniques while developing and refining their skills as young artists. They will also have the opportunity to think critically and stimulate their senses as they create, interpret, and express themselves visually. This fun filled day will begin with an engaging morning in the Discovery Centre, the Esplanade’s warm and welcoming art-making space. An afternoon field trip to the Hive Artists’ Hub will provide students with the opportunity to learn from professional practicing artists. Each Board-specific PD Day will have different content so students will enjoy coming back more than once!
Both drop-off and pick-up will take place upstairs in the Esplanade’s Discovery Centre. The program will run from 9 am to 4 pm each last Wednesday. (Drop-off can begin at 8:30.)
Parents are asked to provide their child with a water bottle, snack and a lunch.
