A Downtown Christmas StoryWalk

December 3, 2021
to
January 7, 2022

Make meaningful memories with a cheerful holiday outdoor experience that your entire family can enjoy. In collaboration with the Medicine Hat Public Library, Police Point Park and 15 participating downtown locations, the Esplanade has created this special edition of StoryWalk®. From December 3 2021 to January 7, 2022.

Start your walk outside the Esplanade, followed by the Medicine Hat Public Library and various downtown locations (see list below) and discover A Porcupine in a Pine Tree: A Canadian 12 Days of Christmas by author Helaine Becker and illustrator Werner Zimmermann. This playful Canadian version of the classic Christmas carol is sure to bring a smile to your face!

Enjoy looking for all of Werner Zimmermann’s zany illustrations on the windows of participating local businesses and organizations. Count the characters from 1 to 12 and sing along! With many opportunities to browse local shops or get hot chocolate, this event is sure to please the whole family.
