The Discovery Zone within the galleries is a space where the whole family can explore, learn and be inspired. A place where together, you can direct your own experience of the exhibitions based on what interests you.

Our flexible self-led activities offer options to engage with the ideas in the exhibitions as well as arts and heritage in general.

Spend time creatively exploring free of charge hands on activities and available when the galleries are open. They are geared toward children 5 and up and their adult companions, as well as the young at heart if not in age! Toys, books and more are available for children of all ages to enjoy.

Current Activities Include:

LOOPY SCULPTURE

Stack, play and collaborate on our loopy wired sculpture!  Add small coloured parts to explore colour schemes and visual patterns within a

3-Dimensional network. In connection with the School Art exhibition.

PLAY WITH POSE

THE READING LIBRARY

The Reading Library hosts a curated collection of books for young readers to enjoy while spending time in the Discovery Zone. The collection encourages readers to explore art and community and was made possible by the Medicine Hat Library's generous support.
