An interactive storytelling event with big imagination and big heart!
📚 Foster connection, understanding and imagination in this free fun family day with your littles. In celebration of Indigenous storytelling month we invite you to join us and friends JoLynn Parenteau (Miywasin Freindship Centre), The Connection, Medicine Hat Local Immigration Partnership, Saamis Immigration, Medicine Hat Interpretive Program and others around the creative storytelling campfire. Move from play campfire to campfire to hear different stories and engage in different ways with this fun interactive storytelling experience!
🔥 Spark your imagination and foster connection with your kids and community while exploring imaginary worlds and others’ lived experiences.
🍫 Check out our s'mores station for some sweet treats. Try our create your own story gallery scavenger hunt, shadow puppet art activity, giant puzzle with the What Matters to Hatters Coalition, sensory play with Sensational Path and much more!
📽️ As an added storytelling bonus, we will be screening the documentary Métis Stories of Hope by the Otipemisiwak Métis Government Métis Nation within Alberta in the Archives. This short film is collection of lived experiences from Métis Albertans and is a true testament to the importance of sharing your voice and using your space to lift up your community. The film explores what it means to be Métis and how Métis Identity has changed through the years.
