SATURDAYS | May 13(SOLD OUT) & June 17(SOLD OUT)| 12 - 4PM | Art Gallery
2ND DATE ADDED BY POPULAR DEMAND! Come try your hand at weaving surrounded by the interesting and thought-provoking artwork of our newest exhibition, "The Mirror, The Echo, The Panopticon". Within this exhibition, the artist Aglennco explores the intersection between technology and craft in her multi-disciplinary art practise. Registered participants can learn about the links between craft and computers similar to Aglennco’s work directly from the exhibition's curator Genevieve Farrell, while trying their hand on the loom. This four-hour workshop is a basic introduction to weaving led by Medicine Hat-based weaver, Michele Mayer. Participants will learn essential weaving terms, how to warp the lap loom and how to weave using a variety of weft yarns. The finished product will be a wall hanging, approximately 11 x 11 inches. Join us to learn a new craft and enjoy the relaxing art of weaving, no experience necessary! All materials will be provided.
