On May 14th, travel with us around the world and celebrate! At this free family fun event take part in a selection of hands-on activity stations exploring cultures from around the world. Collect stamps in your Kids Celebrate! travel passport by visiting the tables of collaborating community organizations. Get your face painted with Crazy Paints by Katie, or treat yourself at the Kona Ice shaved ice truck outside!

Learn to write your name in different languages with Unisphere and then make it into a button that you can wear, explore musical instruments like maracas from Mexico, the Peruvian Panpipe flute, African Drums, and Native Rain Sticks with Saamis Immigration and make your own instrument from recycled materials! Enjoy Setsubun and Oshogatsu (Japanese New Year) activities like origami making, Oni mask colouring and Omikuji (Japanese fortune strips) with the Medicine Hat College EAP students.

Make your own fireworks with our Canada Day inspired art activity, visit our maple candy making station and don’t forget to check out the highly interactive exhibition Kids Celebrate! that plunges young visitors into the midst of 12 celebrations that bring families together throughout the seasons in Canada’s many cultural communities. Learn through play and discover dances, foods decorations and costumes that make each of these holidays memorable for young and old alike.
